Our Response to President Barron

So, if he resigned tomorrow, the selection process would be the same, right? No change there.

How many qualified candidates would be rushing to fill that slot after what Barron has experienced?

Do you think PSU will be better off with another BOT selected candidate? Do you think they would select someone that would rebel against them given the opportunity?

I'm just trying to understand what the long-range plan is.

You are quite right. Because of the bullshit that goes on here, and because of the criminals in charge, no self-respecting candidate with credentials and with options would ever step forward and come here. The body has too much disease, and before someone capable will come along and properly care for it, the disease needs to be cut out.

Barron is here because there was not a long line of people who wanted this job, under the present circumstances.

Keep the pressure on these liars. Barron seems ready to crack soon based upon his behavior

As long as the current process and people are in charge, Penn State will never land an honest or qualified leader.

Ugh. Give Barron and Masser a chance! You guys are making it impossible for them to do their jobs. How would you like it if they did that to you?!

That depends on what "their jobs" are. Barron's job appears to be a shill for the old BoT, and Masser's job appears to be to continue this bogus false narrative. So, in some way, they're doing their jobs perfectly. Doesn't mean we agree that their jobs are honorable.

Tom Hagen did his job awfully well too. Doesn't change the fact that he was the lawyer for a crook.

No, all this insanity is why no qualified person without ties to PSU would even consider this job. Under the circumstances, Barron was as good as PSU could hope. Trying to run off a guy who had absolutely nothing to do with any of this mess is about as asinine as it sounds.

Has it ever occurred to the pitchfork crowd that maybe Barron just wants to administer the university like a normal university present, and not spend every dying second trying to restore Paterno's name or trying to relitigate the Freeh report.

If he did just that, folks might not be as upset. But he's stuck his nose into it, so it's no surprise it got dirty.

Cry me a river.

There was no need for Barron to interject himself into the dispute among trustees. It was not his place to give orders to trustees. He reports to the trustees, not vice-versa. His letter was completely out of line. If he just wants to administer the university, he should keep his big fat nose out of this dispute and let the courts handle it.

I'm assuming you're ok with the University shelling out MILLIONS of dollars to every Tom Dick and Harry that had a brushing with Sandusky back in the day. There are a lot of Alumni who donate their money for the good of education and when they see a rogue administration spending it freely on something that isn't exactly clear, they tend to be pissed off. And they have every right to do so.

Agreed. Furthermore, Barron is a big boy and knew what he was getting into, or should have. And rather than make any attempt to meet folks halfway, he just throws more fuel onto the fire.

That question has already been addressed and answered. Next?

Just to wish you the best of luck on your next hire for President. You are going to need it really bad.

But it sounds as if you've thought that scenario out and have a viable plan in place.

Somehow get the Legislature in here to remove the cabal.

This is an excellent question for the controlling majority. If their endgame is to take the university down with them, then I suspect there is little that can be done to prevent it (short of governmental intervention).

Appreciate your concern.

If things continue to trend the way they are going....we'll be fine in a few more years.
Its been a long struggle, and still a long way to go.....but we will get there if we stick to it.
