Jed was wondering if PS keeps winning and the playoff rankings come out, that they could be penalized for having a poor strength of schedule with GA State being a significant drag.

Washington wasn't penalized last year....no way they keep us out if we go undefeated and win the B1G

Jed is a propagandist. Alabama playing Mercer is okay with Jed and all the bullshit spin dildos of the sports gossip world.... How About Clemson playing Kunt State Jed? F Jed the OSU shill.

Non-conference strength of schedule won't matter if PSU takes care of business in the division and conference. PSU did exactly what a playoff team should given that slate of games including Pitt.

Alabama has Mercer and Colorado State
Clemson has Kent State and Citadel
Oklahoma has UTEP and Tulane....the list goes on.

It will ultimately be about strength of the conferences. The only thing that would cause PSU problems is if you have an unbeaten P12 or Big XII champ because I don't see the winner of the B1G going unbeaten.

IF.... IF..... The conference winners of all 5 Power Conferences go unbeaten (e.g. Bama, Clemson, USC, Oklahoma), which may be slightly less of a stretch than usual (yet still very highly unlikely), I could see the unbiased (how dare we question that?!) geniuses on the Playoff Committee leaving out B1G Conf. Champ PSU from the 4 team invitational, regardless of record.

After last year, we heard that a P5 Champion from the 1st or 2nd toughest conference - aka The B1G - could never be left out again.

Of course, if Ohio State's lone loss is to Oklahoma, and they win the B1G, they will get in. Enjoy the Big 6 bowl, Oklahoma! You earned it! What? You beat Ohio State and won your conference? Pffft. Amateurs. We have precedent (See Penn State, 2016), and you're still the #5 of the P5, because we say so.

And do not even suggest that we need a 6 or 8 team playoff. My god, you've got your nerve suggesting a rational solution to the '5 Power Confs for 4 spots' dilemma. If we could not think that far ahead a few years ago, you have no right to think differently. Maybe in another 5+ years. Stay healthy, everyone!

The creativity of the reasons behind leaving us out again would set new fiction standards that may never again be met.....
Move aside, Papa. Step back there, Shakes. Not so fast, Stevie King. Where do you think you're going, Le Carre?
