PA State Parks

[Lionsburg]

Has anyone camped at either Bald Eagle State Park or Black Moshannon State Park? With the price of hotels, I’m considering bringing my camper up for the Wisconsin game but I prefer state parks over private campgrounds or RV lots.

Has anyone camped at either of these state parks? I’m curious if one is nicer than the other or if they are pretty much on par with each other.

Bald Eagle is in a valley. Black Moshannon is on top of the mountains. Bald Eagle is a little closer.

Bald Eagle has a couple camp site locations, the one on the side of the mountain is much more wooded, the one near the beach is more field like. Black Mo is a good bit further, personally I'd do the Bald Eagle

I stayed in one of the cabins in Black Mo a few years ago for a game weekend. It was ok, nothing special if you are lucky to get one of the few with bathroom facilities attached. Otherwise it could be a walk to the bathhouse.
