yes...odd duality....gal makes money off of her looks and then complains people talk about her looks. All of the ugly people applaud. Yet, she contributes to the very issue: exploitation based on sexuality. Go figure.

The title, using "fires back" suggests a complaint. I didn't read it so perhaps you are correct and the writer exacerbated what she said (surprise the press lying!).
She is inferring----she is only famous because of her looks. Thus she is trying to shift the narrative-there is more than my looks or that I am more than a pretty object etc..

Don't think Paige is on the LPGA tour. Not really good enough to make a living at it.

But I agree ... if Paige, Holly and a few other hotties were on the tour, they'd surely increase the number of viewers. Maybe not on TV, because the TV portion tends to be on Sat and Sun and to get there, you have to make the cut. Don't think either can.
But that won't ever square with the basic concept of sports. And, it won't square with the feminist's side of sports. A HUGE problem in the USA right now is that the tour is being DOMINATED by Korean golfers. The top three players, by a wide margin, that are leading the money list are Korean. (Ko, Kim, Park). Of the top ten, 3 are American. The three Korean golfers made $1.7m, $1.4m and $1.4m while the top American made $.9m.
S Korea government subsidizes the best young talent, and puts them in Cali or other warm weather spots to develop their skill sets. That is a big part of the reason a small country is so dominant in the LPGA.
Maybe if our female golfers spent less time on cute outfits, Botox appointments and Instagram posts, they’d be better able to compete
