Paris shooting, at least 18 dead

Tragic news indeed. It's becoming more and more like the the 80s in Europe, when groups like Baader-Meinhof & Direct Action were on the loose.

Not that it matters, but despite their name, The Eagles of Death Metal are not a metal band. Another sign of the time I suppose is the fact that there has already been an update to their Wikipedia page.

Late 70's actually. I was living in Cologne (PSU program) in '78. Some of my classmates happened to walk by the spot where Schleyer was kidnapped (in Cologne) and noted that you could still still see the damage on the street from where his bodyguards had been gunned down. That was only a few months before we got there.

RAF killed 34 over nearly 30 years. Action Directe, 3 in 15 or so.
Exactly. These massive Muslim communities in Europe are powder-kegs waiting to go off. Those Marxist groups of the 70s and 80s were a bunch of hipster dilettantes with violent streaks.

Friday the 13th...Coincidence???

It was on this date, October 13, 1307 – and presumably on a Friday – that King Philip IV (“the Fair”) of France arrested all of the Templar Knights. The religious order had been the subject of rumors of blasphemy and irreligious practices, but in fact the Knights of the Temple of Solomon or (from their logo) the Red Cross Knights, were “just brutal, pious, simple-minded men,” who became wealthy and corrupt as soon as the Church showered blessings and money on the order.

The Templars were formed after the First Crusade as a body of knights charged with prosecuting the crusades, and with living morally upright lives in the service of their church.

The have certainly opened a door in Europe with recent migration/ refugee policies. It will be interesting to see the info that comes out on these 5 terrorists- who they were, when/ how they entered the country etc.

Wonder if Europe will continue to alow all these so called refugees to enter

I can't believe the terrorists didn't register their weapons in advance.

Im certain there are laws in France specifically prohibiting the illegal carrying of weapons..especially those assaulty ones.

I see the moron/vultures are out in full force.

Yeah guys have an argument over your thought process now.

This is very bad. They are 10x more coordinated than people thought. You kill one they are like gremlins that spawn. No winning here but something has to be done. What? There is no ****ing answer. You can't beat an individual that has an ultimate mission of death.

I feel sick

I will try and post my comment again but I am sure the mods will delete it again.

Our President today said we have to wait for all the facts to come out but when there is a shooting in the states involving police and African Americans he has no problem commenting before he has all the facts

Remember we are only dealing with the JV team.

Yeah they lost their lives that had no meaning to them. It would be nice to put them all in a hole and bury them but they are everywhere. Kill as many as you can before you kill yourself. Marching orders. The JV team, they are hell unleashed.

France has more citizens going to and returning from Syria than any other non-Arab country. These returnees area big problem for France.

Even before Charlie Hebdo a faction in the French parliament wanted to increase electronic surveillance capabilities but have met major resistance, much of it from Internet service providers and social media firms. Perhaps this incident will change the political calculus.

And the EU open boarder policy doesn't help as you can't stop control your boarder
We can only hope this terrible event leads to changes in policy

I would advise that everyone read a book on geopolitics and terrorism. Very interesting stuff. The approaches taken to this issue are not productive and will simply spawn greater conflict in the future. People will say that terrorism is unsolvable but the IRA and its resolution provide an interesting backdrop to the possibilities. Go back 30 years and nobody would have given that a chance at resolution.

Very interesting discipline.

I get this but this is basically the French strategy in a nutshell.

I think it more applies to a countries immigration policy. As you let more people into a country who don't want to acclimate to the country the more you open to situationa like what happened today.

You won't see this happen in those countries that have strict immigration policies and border control

looks like multiple shooters....breaking so we'll see. Looks like there may be a hostage situation....current BBC claims are that ~60 people taken hostage at a Friday evening concert event. Batten down the hatches, this is going to get BAD. Now reports are that 26 are dead....soccer game with Germany is right next door and you can hear the explosion.

150 dead at 12:06.
@WBRCnews
Man arrested in #ParisAttacks told police: "I am Syrian, I was here with 2 others, we were recruited by ISIS, this is an ISIS mission"

Great, and our current leader is about to bring 10,000 Syrians into New Orleans.

Another 10k people who don't want to be Americans just want the benefits of living in America at the expense of the taxpayers

A large percentage that grew up hating America and had ideas imprinted in their brains that make them very easy to sway. Kindness is a virtue too. How far does it extend?

Most of the radical Muslims in France are the young adult children of people who came to France generations ago and assimilated well. Many of the children have not done so well and are susceptible to appeals from groups like ISIS.

This situation arises in many countries and it is not clear why it has been such a big problem for France other than the sheer numbers of returnees.

It will be interesting to see where these terrorists came from- from recent European migrants or from internal French Muslim groups.

The mods have already deleted some of my other comments as they can't deal with anyone that disagrees with them.
Yes, they deleted mine too. I apparently am not even permitted to respond to someone directly calling me out and questioning what specific examples I have of something that I wrote. You have to get in lockstep around here and remember to pull the correct lever marking, even if it is for a 1%er ruling family born into money white person purporting to fight against the very thing that they are.
