I know we need tickers first; however, any news on parking. I think I had the app last year and assuming we use it again this year?

Glad I saw your post. Just bought my parking pass for the opener.

There's a parking package for PSU wrestling which uses the west deck and the one next to the Nittany Lion Inn. The web site is PSU.PARKMOBILE.IO The package costs $25 for the 5 Rec matches.

Dumb question, but is it a bad idea to park in the West Deck?

Last year for the Nebraska dual, I parked in the Nittany deck, and it was hell getting out as I’m sure it usually is.

yeah, it’s more of a trek, but egress is way easier.

Ease of getting out probably depends on which level you park on. In the past, when the Nittany Lion Inn was open we would get in the parking garage early, park on the lower level and go to the NLI. No problem getting out. This year with the NLI closed, we went to the Lock Haven match and went to Champs on Atherton. Being a Friday night, the traffic coming back from Champs to Rec Hall was a total 'cluster F'. It took the better part of an hour just to travel that short distance and we ended up on the upper level of the Nittany Deck. It was another 'cluster F' getting out of the parking garage. Sunday traffic shouldn't be as bad as a Friday night but we will still go early and walk downtown to eat.

Waited in traffic for about 1.5 hours to get to the parking garage from Chik-Fil-A and had to park up top. Then took over an Hour just to move my car bc traffic wasn't moving to leave. Every single car had to be scanned out 1 by 1 with the gate opening for each car.

PSU just announced a West Deck shuttle for all remaining matches.

You may want to consider parking downtown for free on Sundays at Fraser Street garage. A little uphill/downhill walk. No real issue, if it's fair weather for the ambulatory. Only a little further walk than from West Deck. Also, one doesn't need to remember to pre-pay ParkMobile 24s in advance of the event to get the $5.50 rate (vs $10 afterwards).

Walk from new West Deck is a little more level. I stayed until the end of the Lock Haven dual, alma mater, and Ridge Riley award, and still sat in the West Deck way too long.

Been doing this for years-even for Friday night duals when you have to pay to park downtown. Depending on where downtown you park, it can be as little as only one or two tenths of a mile longer walk compared to the west deck (but as noted, there is a slight grade difference) Plus you never know what future PSU wrestlers you may run into while eating downtown before a dual :).
