Pat Forde: "Feels like the beginning of the end for Jim Harbaugh"

We use that line all the time down here in Texas... and I completely agree with you. I hope he stays around for a long long time. I have seen middle school flag football teams with more creative offensive schemes than what he rolled out against ND.
How many wins this year does Harbaugh have to have in order to save his job? Maybe even a horrible season this year would just put him on the hot seat. We need him to beat his true rivals (tOSU and MSU) and then lost to us every year. They would keep him around for winning the rivalry games, even if he didn't win the division.

10+ and while people here are piling on, it was a road loss at night to another decent team. I'm certainly not writing them off as PSU got beat by Pitt and killed by UM...only to rip off 9 in a row and BT title. That is why I'm not waiving the white flag due to Saturday either as PSU didn't look insanely good either this weekend.

The way Michigan lost to ND is what should be the concern for scUM fans. He did nothing to improve the offense in the off season. Instead of trips to Europe he should spend the money on hiring someone who can call plays for him. He lacks the humility JF had when he hired Moorehead.

It was a fascinating game to watch because it was like Harbaugh was trying to sabotage himself. There were some RPO concepts introduced but they were thrown in chaotically and never really built upon as the game progressed. Harbaugh is a pro-style coach who wants his team to play like NFL teams. Reminds me a lot of Charlie Weis. You get the impression that the kids “aren’t smart enough” to grasp Harbaugh’s schemes as a he stares around all game with an exasperated look on his face. His body language is terrible. Screams out that he bears no responsibility for the failure of the kids.

What Michigan wants, Michigan gets. Now I don't like it anymore than you do. So you get what we had here last week, which is the way he wants it. Well, he gets it. I don't like it any more than you men.

It's funny, Michigan brought it that coach from WVU who absolutely abandoned the trenches. Then they brought in Hoke, who actually paid attention to them and focused on them. The problem was Michigan by that point was a dumpster fire. He was just starting to make progress when Michigan decided they wanted a superstar. Well, they got one.

I love that line and it fits perfectly with Harbaugh. That said, I hope he’s coach for life at Michigan!

I hope he gets fired. You want constant turnover. Those are types of decisions that set program back decades. Harbaugh is probably not a bad coach but he is in a rabid environment desperately trying to prove they are as good as OSU when clearly they are not. That is problem with hot-blooded rivalries. You go 11-1 but who the one is matters more than anything else.

If Michigan was going 11-1 but losing to OSU, there would be frustration, but Harbaugh’s resume and the belief in the talent on the team, would buy Harbaugh time. The problem is that he’s not only to OSU, but losing to Notre Dame, Michigan State, PSU, and any other ranked team on the road.
