so....last night, I finally caved and watched the movie. Surprisingly, I thought it was better than I expected. For the most part, I felt the movie was "fair". I have no idea how many facts were embellished, but regardless, I was left with a feeling of.....total embarrassment. I mean, Jerry was embarrassing enough....but add on a cover-up with our top guys, and retarded/drunk fans rioting and singing at Paterno's house. we were made to look like idiots. At the risk of being dramatic, the movie made me NOT want to be a PSU fan (which won't change because I am who I am). What an effin sh*t-show.
I could go on & on, but I thought I was mostly done with my internal struggles I had with Paterno, the Paterno family, and the general disgust on how our top guys handled that 01 incident. We're finally getting good pub again with Franklin's success, and generally speaking, people are remembering again why Penn State is so great. But then this movie comes out.....Christ!
I don't know, I'm struggling. I feel like a moron that I still have Paterno pics in my man-room. Again, I know there were "artistic liberties" taken with Levinson, but the gist of all of it remains intact. What a tremendous stain we'll always have to endure.
