Is it still get alot of support from students? Back in the 2005 season it was awesome, I camped out a few games, but haven't really taken noticed on it that much anymore.

Still active but unfortunately changed its name to Nittanyville. Stupid submission in the post-Sandusky anti-Paterno fervor by the university.

The students who run the organization made the decision to change the name.

To answer your original question, it's still going strong, as good as it ever was.

The sign which was bolted into the pavement was down before the students "voted" to change the name.

I would be interested to hear the story behind this. When this was established I think there was a group of students who all had a say in it, I believe they elected officers yearly. It was never one man's decision. The way the students were to Joe, I highly doubt they were ok with changing it.

The school had no say so in it, at least in 05

The whole story is in jay's book. The group that organizes paternoville was called in to take a vote on the name. Suepa caught wind that there was a vote and knew the writing was on the wall. She went to visit paternoville one last time before the vote, and when she got there the sign was ripped up out of the ground. The vote was a half hour later.

Again, I would love to heard from these students. The whole thing sounds like BS. No group of students would vote to change that name. Sounds like A few got a threat from the BOT.

I actually prefer the name "Nittanyville'", it transsends all coaches, past, present, and future.
