Was it Mel Kiper or Todd McShay that said he wouldn’t be a good fit for KC and questioned them picking him? 50 TD passes later I guess they were wrong.

I've always thought if Kiper really knew what he was talking about, an NFL team would have hired him a long time ago. The fact he's still bloviating on ESPN says it all.

In fairness to Kiper, I think he does a pretty decent job of relaying what professional scouts think. He’s never come off to me as a guy who thought he was the expert, just that he spoke to the experts and this is what they think. McShay is a tool who tried to project some sort of knowledge of the game that he just doesn’t have.

Bill Polian is on line 1, he disagrees with this.

Heck, he's got it too good. I would bet that there are fewer than five player-personnel development professionals in the NFL with the same team since 1984 (Mel's first year of NFL draft evaluation with ESPN). Easy money for the pompadoured prognosticator.

Mel has a good gig. I would do it. His opinions and scoops are for entertainment value and should be taken as such. He used to do an ESPN radio show on Saturday mornings that was quite good as well. He’s better on the radio than most of the dorks they roll out.

Funny you say this. Mayock who is regarded as most knowledable draft guy was hired by Oakland as GM.

Only guy w/better gig in sports is Lee Corso!

Her's the bad news. How far do he and the chiefs go in the playoffs with Andy Reid as the coach?

KC may win 1 game before being eliminated by a lower seeded team. However, if the recent trend holds, Andy Reid loses his first playoff game (for the 3rd year in a row).
