Please explain to me how that is so...Long had been arrested for being drunk and assaulting a officer..He was told by his coach to go get help for his drinking and then could be back on the team. Seems like a big red flag to me.
As for PD111 I don't agree or like the chance that they are taking either. All we can do is wait and see..Like we found out about Long even with help some just can not be honest with them selves and just fail such is life and is a very sad thing. Only way for it to work is the person has to work at it hard and do it for himself not for any one else. Sadly to say it took me almost 20 years to realize this and today have 39 years of soberity but still only one drink from a drunk have to still go one day at a time,,So lets hope some good can come out of this peace be with us all...

equating PD3 to long is a false equivalence. If you cant see that or do not wish to acknowledge it, the back and forth of this expression on a PSU board is not going to serve anyone but yahoo.

I would think this is the ultimate act of disrespect to the wrestler done who has done everything expected of him and is getting sit the bench instead of enjoying what is likely perhaps his only opportunity to start at 184/197 for the Hawks. This would be even more painful in that the Hawkeyes have no chance to be in the race!

Pretty much it. All wrestlers should work hard every day to improve, and be ready at a moments notice if they aren't the starter. You just never know.

If you never wrestle in a dual, you'll benefit from many life intangibles that wrestling teaches; hard work, character, teamwork, and the like. Being in a room like PSUs or Iowa's is win/win.

For reference, Iowa had 18 during that same timeframe. 141, with 7 AA and 4 champs, make it more possible that they could be but one could still make a case that Iowa is better with lightweights as a whole. I can point to world team members in the past 10 years at the two lowest weights and I believe Iowa trumps OSU 6 to 5 fwiw.

What about having more world team members? I would say that's a valid argument as well. I just have a hard time thinking that a team failed to have an All-American 13 out of 20 times at the lightest two weights and is considered the best lightweight team.

I see your point, we just have a different opinion. IMO, if I had the choice to decide what I thought was more successful over a career. A 4 time AA, or a 1 time NC, I'm taking the NC. That's my point of view on being the best.
