The Pee Tape was big news when Trump was new to the Presidency at the beginning of 2017. Yet by January of 2017, the FBI knew it was just salacious gossip. From the Inspector General's report:
"the Primary Sub-source told the FBI "he/she" had made it clear to Steele that the prostitute story was nothing but “rumor and speculation.” .....
The individual told the FBI, in a series of interviews, that he or she “never expected Steele to put the Primary Sub-source's statements in reports or present them as facts.” It wasn’t that the claims were as yet unverified -- “the Primary Sub-source said he/she made it clear to Steele that he/she had no proof to support the statements from his/her sub-sources,” Horowitz writes. As the Primary sub-source succinctly put it, "It was just talk." https://www.realclearinvestigations...e_tape_unfounded_didnt_tell_trump_121551.html
That the FBI was able to keep the non-credible (and incredible) nature of this story buried for nearly 3 years, when it was obviously garbage and the source was saying it was garbage, shows very serious deep state machinations. Comey should have known about this in February of 2017 and Devin Nunes should have known about it when his committee's report was issued. Yet somehow something that a Sixth Grader should be able to uncover never saw the light of day. While this was a top story, no whistleblower did anything to bring out the truth. The facts regarding this reported incident should have come out within a week of it becoming public, but it took very long for the truth to come out.
Normally, I am skeptical of conspiracy theories, but not in this particular instance. If Aardvark, is able and so inclined to give a somewhat more innocent version of this course of events, I would like to hear it.
