LOL! And remember this headline…
Hers is a pyrrhic victory. She won the Shutdown battle but lost the war on border security. Here’s how it plays out on February 15th. It doesn’t take Nostradamus to write the script…
1. Pelosi offers no wall funding. She can’t. The progressives in her caucus won’t allow it. The ‘resist’ movement is her Achilles heel. She needs them to remain as Speaker but their ideology of open borders is unpopular with voters. Unlike Schumer, she’s caught in a crack.
2. In the meantime the caravans keep coming. They’re stacked up like flights trying to land at LaGuardia. This is bad optics for Pelosi’s “walls are ineffective” strategy because walls work. For proof, look no further than the 20 miles of wall in her home state, near San Diego… https://www.nytimes.com/2017/09/27/us/border-wall-california.html
If walls are immoral then Nancy, “Tear down that wall!”
3. Due to Pelosi’s inaction, Trump declares a state of emergency to redirect funds to wall construction. 58 presidents have declared emergencies since 1976 (Clinton declared seventeen alone). Most had to do with funding. So Trump’s declaration is likely to survive a SCOTUS challenge based on precedent… https://www.thehour.com/business/article/How-presidents-through-history-have-deployed-13527069.php
In the final analysis whenever Congress fails to act the Executive Branch must step in. To deny that we’re facing a crisis on our border is to deny the existence of the caravans. Don’t deny what your eyes are telling you. We’ve got a loophole in our law. Immigrants are exploiting it.
I thank you and have a blessed day!
