Penn St/Minnesota to air on CBS at 3:30 PM

Not much of a surprise, I would expect the formal release from the Big Ten to come around 1 PM.

This locks Maryland vs PSU to the BTN as Penn St still needs a conference game on that network. Could at any time though (wouldn't expect it at night though, more like 12 PM or 3:30 PM or even perhaps something more odd like 1 PM)

Poor CBS but at least our fans will watch
Thankfully for them all the 330/4pm starts are bad games on paper
Mizzou/SCe might be the best of the bunch

Can’t imagine that they’d put our game in the same noon slot as “the game” but with the expanded Big Ten….maybe

3:30 is typically our season finale placement

There's very likely going to be three BTN games the final week - PSU/Maryland, Illinois/Northwestern and Fresno St/UCLA (like PSU, Illinois still needs another game on BTN so that game has to be there). The most likely scenario is having PSU on at noon with ILL/NW at 3:30 and UCLA at night but I suppose they could switch the UMD/PSU game and ILL/NW

In past years, they wouldn’t put PsU and OSU/Um in the same time slot. But this is the new Big Ten…I think Illinois/NW seems better for noon.

I thought you had posted previously that CBS had the first pick for 11/23. Why would they not pick up IU vs OSU? Fox has it for their Big Noon game but how did they get the marquee game if they picked 2nd? Was there some kind of horse trade?

People with more knowledge than me were guessing that CBS had the first pick for that Saturday but it appears that was not correct and it was FOX. I have never seen any official word about who has the first pick in any given week except for a few exceptions (eg FOX picking first the last week and getting UM/tOSU). Indiana/Ohio St is the obvious first game taken for this particular week.

There’s folks out there that spend time trying to reconstruct the picking order after the fact and based on small leaked info. But the reality is we do not know the finer details of the new contracts with FOX/CBS/NBC so it’s always some guesswork

There is no way they will start the Maryland game at noon. That's for "the game". PSU is always at 3:30 or even 4pm on the final week.

You're right, but this season "The Game" has about as much relevance as Akron-Kent State; that's how bad Michigan is on offense.

The Big Ten has never had 18 teams before this season.

It's also a blatantly false statement. e.g. Indiana/Purdue was broadcast at 12pm last year along with UM/tOSU.
