FB Recruiting Penn State adds Michigan Transfer Defensive Tackle Owen Wafle

Comical how Franklin is adding players, literally, from every single position group except the one he actually needs 😂
You need depth everywhere , there's a reason why you have a roster of 85 scholarship players and more back ups that are walk ons.

The goal isn't to get to the final four--it's to win a title
It, in part, prevents us from meeting comparable teams. 0-3 against top 5 teams--not one of those games was a road game.
We all know we need WRs--playing stupid isn't working here
Kyren Hudson is a start. He has elite ball skills, runs great routes, and can make circus catches. He will start for us in 2025. The kid we got from Troy should be our starting punt returner and will be used situationally with his speed. Now we just need a big body WR for the red zone and a true #1, which will take big NIL money.

What I’d like to know is why did he leave UM considering that their two starters from this past season are leaving. Other than that, that’s good because that’s one position at which we need more bodies for next season.

I don't know if Michigan rotates as much as PSU, but if he can compete, he'll be part of the rotation at PSU and play a lot.
Or decision isn't about playing time, maybe it's because he's closer to home.
Or maybe it's about fit with the coaching staff and philosophy. Barnes does a great job of developing DL and players like playing for him.

The portal is a really good thing for players who know what they want and are willing to work hard. Watching Rucci blossom at tackle for PSU was one of the best developments of the season.

For anyone hoping for an elite wr portal pickup, it aint happening this cycle. What can happen is a new wr coach. We do need the depth in the trenches.

They don't have to be in the portal. You contact agents to get guys to enter the portal. Singleton would be a #1 though for starters. You can't add two guys outside the top 30.
Then who is not in the portal who Franklin should contact genius? I’ll wait again.

Psu where receivers die
Well, AK was in his first year so he had a lot on his plate. I am hopeful he’ll have more time to concentrate and scheme the WR position. It is clearly the biggest weakness on this team.

I am happy to see PSU building depth on both sides of the line. It is vital in this conference.
Yep. You can make the final four of college football without a passing game to wide receivers.

You can't make the final four of college football without a strong and deep OL and DL.

Plus, big guys who have mobility are the hardest thing to recruit for in college football. Penn State is really fortunate to have strong OL and DL programs that attract those kinds of athletes. It's the foundation of the program, really.

I'm happy about the upgrade at punt returner but not excited at all about either of them as a receiver. Hope you're right about Hudson. If we had a legit WR coach I may feel better about untapping his potential

The sh*t is about to hit the fan up there?

They need to take it to a sweet 16 which I believe will happen at some point.

We are winning 24-17 with 3:50 to go. If the defense forces a punt and we run the clock out we go to the National Championship without Wideouts. I agree 100% the need, however, unless we get some depth at DT and get some DE's you could have elite wideouts and be losing games 42-35.
for me, if someone would have bet me that Penn state would go 11-1, play in the B1G championship game, make the playoffs, and play in a semi final game, I would have taken that bet and even given odds. We had a great season and are 3 points away from playing for a national title. We lost, so will all but one of the FBS teams. Am I disappointed? Sure, but that doesn't take away from the season.

We can criticize Allar, Franklin, whoever. But Allar played a lot better than I could have, so who am I to criticize him?

Look at the situation positively...we have more time to obsese over wrestling
