If you go on Stubhub and do a search for Penn State Men’s basketball and click on their away schedule for ticket purchasing opportunities, they list a game December 30 at 1PM against UMBC on Penn State’s schedule. The game is 100% advertised as if you are seeing the Big Ten team. The game in reality is a Penn State York game.
After being hung up on and a long hold they did reluctantly credit me my money back and said they would make an exception even though all sales are supposed to be final. Make an exception? What they did was no different than listing a minor league Yankees game on the Major League schedule. I asked if there was anything for the inconvenience, they wouldn’t even offer a 5% discount on their ridiculous fees. Nothing. Basically was told I should feel lucky that I got my money back.
I just did a refresh of Penn State’s schedule on Stubhub and the UMBC game is no longer listed on their schedule, I did take a screenshot before the correction was made showing the error. I pointed out something that could have become a bigger issue and no courtesy discount code?
I will be using Ticketmaster moving forward to sell my basketball and football tickets and with the way Penn State now operates with mobile ticketing, it’s way easier and more convenient.
