He's a really good football coach. Of course, he played high school football at Seton LaSalle here in Pittsburgh and was a good d-lineman on some really good PSU teams. He also did a good job as head coach at Duquesne and Albany.

You're thinking of an amazingly athletic zone blitz INT against Notre Dame in 1981.

That said, Greg was a stud in general. His effort really jumps out on tape from those teams. He also made the winning tackle against Alabama in 83.

Didn't Greg play running back in highschool. Joe was very good at moving athletic kids with big frames and turning them into stud linemen. See Mike Munchak.

Was the very definition of "play through the whistle" as a player. Wasn't athletically blessed but somehow beat the daylights out of future all pro offensive linemen during his career. Absolutely owned the line of scrimmage and when that guy hit you, you went down. Instantly. And stayed down 😂

I remember he made some big disruptive defensive plays vs Georgia in the '83 Sugar Bowl.
