Football Penn State now No.3 in CFP Poll

Man that number 5 seed the way everything is right now sure looks like a great consolation prize were we to come up short Saturday in the championship game. Home game vs the winner of Arizona State and Iowa State from the Big 12 followed by a matchup against the number 4 seed in Boise State if they take care of business in the MWCG vs UNLV.

Meanwhile the No. 1 overall seed gets a bye, but then has to play the winner of Tennessee and Ohio State the way it is set up at the moment. That is not much of an incentive for being the #1 ranked team in the country. Luckily for us, I think if we beat Oregon and Texas were to beat Georgia then Texas would in all likelihood get that #1 seed and we would get the 2 seed who at this point the way it’s set up would play the winner of Indiana and Georgia which I think is preferable to most likely having to play Ohio State again. I don’t see us getting any lower than the 6 seed and if that were the case we would either play at home against Alabama (very winnable) if SMU wins the ACC or at home against SMU or Indiana if Clemson were to beat SMU then SMU is not going to be left out considering they are ranked 8 right now while Bama is 11 and the committee is not going to punish a team that goes into championship weekend in the playoff by moving a team with 2 more regular season losses ranked 3 spots behind them that didn’t make their conference championship game ahead of them to take their spot if they were to lose, which personally I really want to see. I’d love to see Clemson beat SMU and get in and then SMU snag that last at large spot in effect kicking bama to the curb so we can watch the SEC nuts lose their shit. And honestly, I think SMU is a better overall team than Alabama this year. Sure, Alabama might have more talent across the board, but that doesn’t always equate to having the better team. Just ask Miami and Texas A&M. Along with LSU and USC while you’re at it. SMU’s players are no slouches either. They have some real talent on the roster and have a lot of team speed as they have recruited the state of Texas very well and spent a good amount of money this past season via NIL in the transfer portal so I wouldn’t underestimate them. Their defense is missing a few pieces, but their offense is filled with weapons and talented young guys at the skill positions

Rooting hard for Texas because I don't want to play Bama in the first round if we lose. We don't know what they'd do with SMU to be honest. SMU hasn't beat anyone though so I'm not sure why we're hyping them up. They didn't play Clemson, Miami or even Ga Tech who was capable this year Their best win is Louisville. It will be interesting to do see what happens if they lose to Clemson. I still think they're out.

I think if we beat Oregon we get the 1 seed regardless.
