We have been spoiled by Barkley, Miles and Brown. Backs don't have explosiveness and quickness like they did. Lee tonight had a big run but doesn't have break away speed to take it to the house. Lovett looks closest to being a quick and speed back. OL excellent in pass protection, but not as consistent in run game in opening holes, esp. in short yardage situations.

But the 3rd and 1 calls and the 1st 2nd 3rd and 4th and goal calls are baffling.

Actually on 4th and goal with psu in a full house T formation there was a massive hole off tackle....Lee didn't look inside and tried to take it wide. Check the tape, he could have walked in.

If the D were playing like the O the BWI CAC would be screaming for PRY's job.

Bill O’Brien would tell Lee to “ run behind his pads “. The 4th and one goal line stuff would have been a TD if he had. He is too upright and hesitates much of the time..
Cain looked good earlier in the year. The announcers said his foot is injured. It makes sense. They probably should have rested him tonight.
Lovett looks decent. I would like to see what he could have done with Lee’s long run opportunity.
Ford probably needs to play more. He runs tougher than the bigger backs and is more decisive.

I still think the OL and TE’s are not getting it done as far as run blocking assignments.
I am not persuaded that Trautwein was an improvement over Limegrover.

Didn’t know Cain got hurt. Lee fumbled in both auburn and Wisconsin the rode then pines. He’s got to stop fumbling. But I like his running and picked him surprise player of the year

I agree. Far too much running laterally especially on short yardage plays. Didn’t get the Clifford designed draw on 4th and 1 and the Warren up the middle was way too predictable but I will take a 24-0 win every day.

We ran much better tonight, but we just aren't seeing the holes as they develop. Our runners are often not patient enough and just kick everything wide. They aren't fast enough to do that. A hole opened up off tackle on that 4th and goal play and Lee took the ball wide into two defenders. I could have stumbled through that hole. The vision in the RB room is as much a problem with the run game as the OL, if not more.

Lee looked pretty good for 4 games last year, Cain the year before was money and Lovett is a proven back from Baylor. But, since 4-0 PSU has excelled thru the air.....they are all sub par. LOL

I like Lee, big boy, but he runs so upright, should never be able to stop a dude that size on the one and not be falling forward. I would play Ford more, love his burst and he can catch it out of the back field as well.
