I do get that the number of tickets received is out of PSU's hands.. I also get there is a tier system.. I am in the top tier as a ST holder and NLC member.. What I am shocked by is that even with the short allotment, the cut off this year seems unusually high.. I made the cut with room to spare for NYC which was a tough ticket.. I can't see how the number for cut off has quadrupled in Cleveland... that is the fishy thing in my mind.. I wonder how many tickets went to an UN-named tier above the "top" tier.

Pretty sure for NYC PSU got a number of suites. Not sure on the number but I think it was over 300 additional seats.

Got my photog credentials today from the NCAA so I'm good to go. But I'll keep my ears open for any potential blocks of tickets.

Not that it impacts me directly but I'm also curious about the evident shift in general availability. Has there been a spike in interest in going to this Nationals in particular because of location? 2.5 hrs from Pittsburgh and 4 hrs from State College? Distance between NYC and State College is comparable. Spike of interest in the team? It's not as if there hasn't been plenty of hype around the team going back to Ruth and Taylor days, and Rec Hall has been sold out for at least that long, so it's not as if there have been new ways to rack up Club points.

Also a noteworthy trend, but having nothing to do with Penn State, is the ridiculous spike in price for suites. I realize that's an arena-to-arena thing, but it's scary that these prices represent what the market will bear.

The increase in demand over the last 7 years is amazing. The increase in demand from PSU fans is understandable but there is a lot more at work here than that. For Philly the tickets were $150 and I sat in a suite, where the tickets were $300. Now, 7 years later regular tickets are $250 and suites are $1,389. Those are HUGE increases and it is not just because of PSU fans. It actually surprises me as this is happening at the same time that the TV/streaming coverage went from just the finals on TV to everything being available. I am at a loss to explain it.

Well NCAA wrestling is best show in town.
Just think how much more tickets could be
if it was held before or after dam Basketball
was over.
Have to be held at a place that could seat over
40,000.

And as you well know it will be in a few years in Minneapolis.

All you really need to look at is the number of tickets we were allotted in NYC vs Cleveland. It is less and that matters in the cutoff. We asked for 1200 and got just over 700 as I understand. That would be a bigger factor.

No I get that but I am saying the difference in the cut off points is not even in the ball park.. the original cut for NYC was something like 300 + points.. the initial cut here is 1200+.. that doesn't jive to me.. a 500 count ticket difference when most people are getting 4 only handles another 100+ people.. likely not even getting the cut down to 1000 or so.. just doesn't add up to me..

But doesn't matter... it is what it is..

Much as i hate to say this but the PSU ticket office told me to call 1-800-GOBUCKS for good tickets. Even the guy said he hated to say it but if that's what it takes to get thousands of fans for Nationals in all probability so be it....Lets go state!!

I have been designating that my NLC contributions go to the wrestling program, not that THAT means anything.
