Hanging around. 56-48 13 minutes left. But Iowa looks ready to go on a big run.
Probably right but let's see.PSU loses, no need to ruin peoples evening
Baldwin is not the same. 7 points, 2-8 and 1-4 from 3. That doesn't cut it. I think it is his back so who knows if he will ever be fully healthy the rest of the season. Johnson did not play and don't know his injury status. Yet we lose by only 1 point helped by 60% Iowa free throw shooting and the fact they didn't score the last three and a half minutes of the game. You would think we could have won it at the end as Iowa was giving it to us but we are not able to win these close games.I thought PSU had the makings of a pretty good team until Baldwin & Johnson got hurt. It's just not the same team now.
I looked like Baldwin picked up his dribble and didn't know what to so he threw up a desperation 3pt Nobody including Hicks expected that so when he got the rebound he had no feel for the clock and heaved another shot as quickly as possible. Not sure why PSU took the 3's at the end. Getting to the hoop for a bucket or 2 foul shots would have more than likely gotten PSU into OT at the least, which would have been great considering how inconsistent they played most of the game....
Yep, poor execution. You would think/hope we are not an "0 for" on the road this year but who knows based on what we have shown so far.Not sure why PSU took the 3's at the end. Minnesota won at Iowa this past week and also recently beat Michigan. Based on those recent results, I would say that PSU is the worst Big 10 team, and I don’t care how close most of the losses are or the injuries. Same old, same old.Yep, poor execution. We absolutely need to win out at home or are in serious danger of being in the bottom 3 of the B10. That means no B10 tourney and season over. Would be extremely disappointing.
Washington is bad. Nebraska is struggling. I don't think you can definitively say we are the worst but we are certainly near the bottom. Really need to turn it around the second half of the season.Minnesota won at Iowa this past week and also recently beat Michigan. Also, they most likely won’t win a true road game this season. So much for progress.
They didn't score the last three and a half minutes. That should have been the gift we needed but we can't take advantage. Doesn't help that we dug ourselves an 8 point deficit at that point.I like Coach going with the 23 defense using the five guard lineup and putting Kern in the middle. Well, he’s not big. He’s exceptionally athletic and active. I think he just kept in that defense for a couple possessions too long, which gave them a couple open threes on the baseline when the wings on the bottom got too stretched out.
As bad as the last 10 to 15 seconds were offensively, let’s be real here, Iowa was terrible from the free-throw line in the last minute or otherwise that’s a five point win.
The entire league is a war each night, PSU can beat Purdue who just crushed Michigan but then loses to IU. There is such a small difference between #7 and #17Washington is bad. There are no bad teams including Penn State. The key is to hold serve at home, maybe lose one or two then get a couple on the road. No margin for error at all at this point to reach 10 conference wins. The entire league is a war each night, PSU can beat Purdue who just crushed Michigan but then loses to IU. PSU will probably finish 13th or 14th depending on tie breakers and then have to play the 12 and then 5 or 11 and then 6. AS long as Illinois isnt the 5 or 6, PSU cold win at least those 2 games.
Not to beat a dead horse, but Minnesota beat Oregon at home today, so they’re beginning to distinguish themselves from PSU among the Big 10 bottom feeders.Minnesota won at Iowa this past week and also recently beat Michigan. Still drive me crazy missing foul shots!Baldwin is not the same. 7 points, 2-8 and 1-4 from 3. That doesn't cut it. Yeah they're obviously playing better. Nebraska, Washington, Indiana, Rutgers, Penn State are the bottom feeders. Indiana is poorly coached and will end up near the bottom when all is said and done. Not to beat a dead horse, but Minnesota beat Oregon at home today, so they’re beginning to distinguish themselves from PSU among the Big 10 bottom feeders.
IU at least already has won two Big 10 road games, and of course one was at PSU. Unfortunately, that’s probably twice as many as PSU will win this season.Yeah they're obviously playing better.
