PENNSYLVANIA DUALS

As we begin to review 2015-16 season and look into the future scheduling. Is it time to consider a record busting schedule for a Saturday event. Invite the top four Pennsylvania 2015 teams to an early starting time, two mats, quadrangular meet. Teams to consider:

Penn State, Lehigh, Bucknell, Pitt, Clarion, Edinboro, 1 vs 4, 2 vs 3; 1 vs 3, 2 vs 4; 1 vs 2, 3 vs 4
Starting time: TBD

Event scheduling: Noon, 1600, 2000 hour

What an exciting night, BJC sold out, noon and 1600, ticket A, 2000 ticket B Buyers can select both events, or specify Event 1 or 2.

Almost like re-starting the Pennsylvania Duals

I believe PSU last participated in that in Nov. 2006. They competed against Clarion, UP-J, and Edinboro in mid-November, 2006. If I remember correctly (which is a question going back 9+ years), Lehigh and Lock Haven were also there, but PSU did not compete against them in the Pennsylvania Duals (they had home duals with each of them later in the season).

In 2005 PSU participated, and wrestled against UP-J, York, and Lehigh (though they also had a dual @ Lehigh later that season).

In 2004, PSU hosted the Pennsylvania State Dual Championships. They lost to Lehigh (though they also faced them later that season at PSU, when they lost to them again).

I like the idea but 3 matches in one day is probably too much. Two mats for early noon session with all 4 teams. 4:30 PM match (allows enough time to clear out and clean) with losers followed by 6:30PM match with winners. Two sets of tickets, one for early session, one for afternoon/evening session.
