Franklin inherited a team that was coming off the harshest sanctions since SMU. The cupboard was left bare on the oline. Olineman generally take longer to develop than almost any other position. I don't care if it's Pop Warner or the NFL if your offensive line stinks your offense will stink. Qbs need time to throw, backs need holes to run through and receivers need time to run there routes. Our roster is littered with freshman and sophomores and quite frankly a lot of the players that OB recruited are not legit D1 starters because he was ham strung with the sanctions. As long as Franklin recruits well the future looks bright. I can understand why people are not enamored with Donovan but at least give him a chance with a decent line. I feel bad for Hack for the circumstance he was and is in but in fairness some of the problems rest on his shoulders. He is neither accurate nor instinctive and is not a great runner. Franklin is less than halfway through year 2 of a major rebuilding job.
