i thought I would share this with the board since we are always looking for inside info.
I had the pleasure of hearing 2018 recruit Bryce Effner’s father speak to my office today at Oakmont country club. Jim Effner is a former Northwestern Mutual advisor and managing director and has since retired, now he teaches a clinic to Northwestern mutual advisors, myself being one of them. Anyway, he opens up his speech this morning with how excited he is to be in PA, since his son Bryce is playing at penn state. I knew at the Q&A part I would have my opportunity to ask him a psu related question.
So I asked him how great of a salesman is James Franklin?
His response was great, eyes lit up and said in college football there isn’t a better salesman, and the best part about him is he is completely genuine, he cares so much. Went on to say that he’s sure Saban is good too but not on the same level. Lastly, he said if he was in my business, financial planning, that he would easily be #1 in the company, Best sales skills he’s ever seen.
