Phil Steeles' All Big Ten Team...there are issues with it.

If James Franklin can win the Big Ten Conference with only two players (total) on the first- and second-team All Conference teams, just imagine the possibilities with all these rockstar recruits coming in.

I like Phil, but this all conference team....let's just say some of these picks are based on rep more than for what happened on the field. I have no idea how you keep Bell and Reid off this list, and there are not 3 receivers in this league better than Chris Godwin or Saeed Blacknall.

I like Phil, but this list is off in some areas, while on in others.

Let me guess... hafta get to 3rd team before any of our receivers (WR or TE) are mentioined. yeah, that was annoying. [however... the less accolades MG gets, maybe the better... maybe he'll stick around one more year or, at worst, play his greatest game ever vs usc to shut Steele up.]

And then there's Trace behind... Barrett?? Yeah, that gave me a headache. I'm going into battle (not the nutcracker, which i think JT wins handily), I want Trace. Barrett did not have a first team year. But hey, if the pro scouts agree with Steele maybe they'll get him to leave a year early!

To play LB. :)

Defensively I could argue a couple, but it was the offensive team I found... a bit offensiuve.

How did FSU do with all their (ahem) rockstar recruits???

Because...... You would know?

Mr Talent Evaluation 3-9?

LMAO

Who loves ya' more than me Gunsie?

Nobody - that's who!

FACT!!!!!!
I checked. Every other B1G message board has a similar thread. You know, Phil Steele got some right and he got some wrong, depending on the school represented. I was dumfounded by this startling coincidence.

Yea I got some issue with it as well.

First off I'm taking McSorley over JT. JT's has regressed and is nowhere nearly as good as he was as a freshman.
And why all the love for Samuel at WR? Really first string WR? I don't think so. Then he includes MIke Weber as 2nd string WR. Huh? Maybe 3rd but not 2nd.
Bottom line Godwin has to be rated higher than 3rd string all B1G Wr.

On Defense he has Malik Mcdowel l on first string. Did he even play in the last 3 games?
Again waaaayyyy too much love for Peppers as a LB'r. It is nice to see Someone giving Tegray Scales some love.
I thought he was one of the best LBR's we played. And I'd have Brandon Bell over Cabinda on 3rd team.

Bottom line there is still way to much love given to tOSU and Michigan.

Barrett was 1st team hate to say it but he did so much with the talent he had this year. You lose Ezekiel Elliot and you still go 11-1 that is saying something. Imagine if trace didn't have Barkley. Barrett also lost 5 other very good starters on offense from last year and still made it happen.

You have one game to win, one game...

Do you want Barrett or McSorely as your quarterback.

I know what my answer is, and it's not Barrett.

Deciding factor naming Barrett 1st team was that he had more stickers on his helmet than Trace has.
