What are the odds he still has BoT aspirations?? I hope ZERO.
Dambly says, "Jail time?? What's the big deal??"Would think it'd be tough to get on the Board while locked up, but I suppose stranger things have happened.
All he has to do is "forget" he did any jail time.Dambly says, "Jail time?? What's the big deal??"
people of Philadelphia will allow him to finish his term rather than demand an immediate resignation
Would think it'd be tough to get on the Board while locked up, but I suppose stranger things have happened.
The timing on this announcement makes me think there is more to it than just that....
Speculation out there that there will be an indictment.. I won't hold my breath, but if/when it comes.......... THAT WOULD BE HUGE!
That sounds like an honorable pursuit for someone who is doing time.Maybe he will try to figure out why we have time zones.
I predict that an appointment to a position in the Federal government is in his not too distant future.
It's not Philly, it's nationwide, and both parties. The key sentence in the story may be this: "His announcement to forgo a reelection bid came as sources familiar with an ongoing FBI and IRS investigation said their probe of Williams’ personal and political finances was nearing its conclusion."
That is reporter-code for he's about to be indicted. The reporter wouldn't have put that information in the story if his source was telling him Williams was in the clear.
Heck, even based on the publicly known facts, there's probably enough for a federal corruption case. Sometimes I wonder what's in the water in Philadelphia that politicians -- of both parties, by the way -- somehow get this idea that it's okay to accept free stuff from people.
Kenney is too busy adding up all the money he expects to collect on his soda tax and dreaming about how he will spend it all.The people of Philadelphia really have no way to force the issue, but Mayor Kenney could have been a loud a vocal critic and advocated tirelessly for Seth to step down immediately after hiring Frank Fina and the fallout from Porngate, or maybe even after all of those shady gifts disclosures, yet not one peep from him... Probably too busy sitting at the bar.
Make no mistake this is a great day not only for all residents of Philadelphia, but Penn Staters too.
He appears to have lost weight.
Ole' Seth will just forget he was ever locked up. He'll fit right in.Would think it'd be tough to get on the Board while locked up, but I suppose stranger things have happened.
If John Street could get re-elected in the middle of an FBI investigation then anything is possible. The key sentence in the story may be this: "His announcement to forgo a reelection bid came as sources familiar with an ongoing FBI and IRS investigation said their probe of Williams’ personal and political finances was nearing its conclusion."

You're right. Now Seth has "street"cred. If John Street could get re-elected in the middle of an FBI investigation then anything is possible.
And Street was already a known criminal before even getting elected. Williams was not.
