It's starting to heat up a little. Puig is a super talent. He has struggled a little this year but even given that all of his teammates don't like him I'd probably pull the trigger on it.

Puig is BAD news. Not the type of guy you want doing a re-build. And not a Philly type.

Agree…If you have a veteran team with some strong leaders, you can take a flyer on Puig and hope/expect the clubhouse will keep him on the straight and narrow and performing. Phils are about the opposite of that. Unless they structure in a 3rd team where Phils turn around and trade Puig for prospects, this doesn't make sense.

You're probably right. The Phils do have a good number of Latin-American players, 10 currently on the active roster, which might be a plus for Puig. And the team needs power and RBI potential.

There is an ESPN insider piece that indicates a Hamels trade is likely within the next week, with the Dodgers and Cubs leading the list of potential trade partners.

The Phillies have enough young players who make dumb fundamental mistakes. They don't need another one regardless of how much raw talent he has.

I agree. But if he ever gets it all together he is a superstar. Hamels pitching through the rest of his prime on a horrible team adds nothing.
