Hammels and Burnett had a lot to do with this slug fest. Can't say I'm surprised this time
Hurdle just got run. As a Phillies fan I agree he was right but the whole ball/strike thing....you're gonna get run.
The Pirates hitting of late is abysmal. They are so "unclutch". Wasting yet another great pitching performance.

We may be witnessing another star to compete with Cutch. Starling is the super performing athlete for the Pirates right now.
St Louis game postponed, this may be the only way the Pirates can pick up ground on the Cardinals.

Your initial post about a sweep was not deleted. It was merged into the existing thread on today's Pirates - Phils game. Your sweep post was the 3rd or 4th new thread about the game. I simply merged all of them into the initial thread, which was started by GLOV. Since you felt the need to start another post based on your false assumption, I have merged that into the same thread as well.

It bugs me when a manager gets tossed and he's right and the umpire so obviously wrong. The home plate umpire was terrible on balls and strikes and the Pirates suffered the brunt of his cheating calls. One time Burnett threw the batter 4 strikes, but the umpire called 2 balls and the guy ends up on base. And then at a critical time with RISP, he's calling pitches to Alvarez strikes when they're not even close. The league should apologize to Hurdle and discipline the umpire.
