Pitt is the ugly girl everyone makes fun of. Simply cracking a joke at her expense doesn't mean you want to have a relationship with her. It's really simple.

Warhol's 'art' wasn't what made him great (he knew his limits and exploited them). He was a pretty forward thinker though and it's difficult to minimize his contributions to art and pop culture (and philosophy in a weird, artsy way).
He's coined a lot of famous phrases, but my favorite is 'Art is anything you can get away with.' So true. Of course, I love his work and it's deconstruction of celebrity; use of repetition in an effort to simulate the simultaneous consumption and devaluing of fame; and ah f*** it.

It's not my cup of tea, either. There are many different types of art that I like, and I can appreciate some stuff that others might consider weird. When I look at Warhol and his stuff, I see an emperor without any clothes. The message was supposed to be about society and obsession with celebrity, but it strikes me as being as much an indictment of itself as anything - a lot of uninteresting images packaged in a lot of bs.
When the ugly girl has an unhealthy obsession with us (and a poor grasp of the written English language), and hangs around our house all the time... It's very normal. She just doesn't get the hint though.

I think if you think Andy Warhol considered himself an important artist, and that his art was important, you're mistaken. He did it for two reasons: money, and celebrity. Otherwise, he mostly thought like nearly everyone else does...

I posted an article about the 2012 OSU game. The attendance was 107,818.
The point being that the Post-Gazette was wrong when they wrote that PSU had not had 107k since 2011.
After that, Peak must have seen how foolish his board looked and nuked it.
Peak seems to nuke Penn State threads when they get too numerous, or the thread gets too popular. When the focus on Penn State starts to overshadow the Pitt threads, out comes the delete button. I give him credit for trying to keep most of the focus on Pitt.
I doubt Peak nuked it. That thread generated traffic and allowed the anti-PSU posters on the Lair (all 6 of their regulars) to puff out their (inverted) chests and feel good about themselves. He must be on vacation, and he must have mistakenly left someone in charge who actually has a few functioning neurons.
Penn State gets more fans for one OOC game than sPitt gets for a whole season of home games. They need to deal with it. We Are.......They aren't.
Only in the minds of the 10 Pitt fans. The view from this side is more of a hilarious look at clueless yinzers and their obsession with anything Penn State.
Hardly. There's 1 single post on Pitt (reacting to a thread started by Yinzers who are sooooo clueless as to try and pick on attendance of all things) out of 60 threads on the front page. By the way- there's at least 4 on Temple, 2 on Rutgers, 1 on Michigan, 1 on Ohio St, 1 on Miami, and 1 on Oregon State. I guess we are 'obsessed' with all them too (more obsessed with Temple apparently). The desperation of Pitt fans with comments like that is hilarious.

While you trolls are here, I have a major dilemma. I don't know what to do this weekend. The season is upon us... museum season. I don't know which Pittsburgh museum to spend my weekend at. I know that most of the Pitt fans can't go to their game because they are at museums, I would like to avoid these crowds. Not just because your fan base is widely known as one of the worst in the country, mostly because I don't want to deal with crowds in general. Thanks in advance.
