Pitt ticket prices skyrocket

And since the Pitt guys have had carte blanche to insult us since the board changeover, I see no reason why anybody should be indignant.

You can no longer purchase a hot dog and drink at Sheetz to receive a free Pitt ticket. You will have to pay 5 dollars now. A crowd of 50k estimated to be 65k will attend.

Seems like Pitt's fan base is expanding. A few years ago you could get a set of 4 tickets on the 50 yard line attached to a head of lettuce at Giant Eagle.

For as cheap as they are, Penn State fans could buy some allotments and let Narduzzi coach his first game in a half empty stadium......nevermind he probably will anyway.

Nothing says "Big Time College Football" like $5 Cinco de Mayo ticket specials. Gold Jerry, Gold!!!!

No wonder they want to play us again. Otherwise, nobody bothers to watch.

Like your old coach,
this board is great, rips on pitt constantly about ripping on penn state. But when i do come on always pitt stuff, boy will the game be fun next year. we have 10 season tickets we make money on for you crazies right at field level in your stadium.
Interesting choice of words. Yes, next year Heinz Field will be "our stadium". And I am glad you will make money. Penn State grads typically have plenty...Pitt grads....only if the tips are good. Troll on!

Those poor Pitt guys are going to have to come up with a whole lot of new excuses when Heinz Field is a sea of blue and white.

It's why already that some Pitt posters want the series canceled, ostensibly because associating with us would diminish them.

We know the real reason, however.

at least $5.00 tickets are funny, what happened at Penn State is not so funny. See the rest of the world laughs at you, you just don't get it.

You're absolutely right, what happened at PSU isn't funny. It's not a punchline. I'ts not a joke. That hasn't stopped plenty of Pitt fans from rejoicing over it, though. It hasn't stopped plenty of Pitt fans from making jokes about it, either.

The reality is that it was something very serious and plenty of Pitt fans used it to make themselves feel better about themselves under the pretense that they cared, when it's obvious that they only care about feeling self righteous. Many of them wouldn't change what happened if they could, because it would mean they wouldn't be able to feel superior.

That's well said.

They're just concerned about the victims. Riiiiiiight.

I can picture the 4th Quarter of the game at Heinz. Penn State will be up by 21, Pitt fans will have left the stadium except a few, and the WE ARE chant will be resonating throughout the stadium. Going to be great.

So if PSU really lowered the ticket price for a game, the PSU fans would say "no thank you"?

Pitt fans were thrilled when little boys were raped and abused. Absolutely thrilled. None will ever admit it, but then again none are man enough to admit it. They are just as sick as some of the perpetrators of the crime. Joking about pedophilia is as sick as the act. Hopefully, any that reveled in the scandal will die a long, painful death. Scumbags. That goes for any person who finds pedophilia amusing, not just moronic college football fan boys.

You know the Phillies used to offer free tickets in every pack of franks. I assume an attempt to put some fans in the stands. Did not work for the Phils and I doubt it will work for Pitt.

It's amazing how ignorant some are on the topic. I'd love to hear exactly what he thinks "happened at PSU"? I'd love to know which victims specifically were abused on campus, and based on what evidence does he think that? I think if he did any actual research, he would find that what he "thinks (or actually hopes) happened at PSU" either didn't happen or happened off campus. Let him cling to his false narrative, even during the darkest hour, PSU still wasn't down to the level of Pitt, and the truth is slowly emerging.
