Interesting that they refer to it as a "dropped pop up" when he couldn't manage to even touch the ball.oh no, listened on the radio how the Buccos lose in extra innings. Probably shouldn’t have bothered to look it up.
Hopefully tomorrow there will be much more sports joy around the 3:30-3:45 timeframe.![]()

Sergio Alcántara scores on a dropped popup to lead the Cubs to a 6-5 win over the Pirates in the 11th inningwww.mlb.com
The Buccos wish you a Happy Labor Day by Raising The Jolly Roger versus our hated rival from the Motor City!!!![]()

I think this falls under the "nothing to see here" category!!!MSN

Did the fans think it was a Pitt football game?MSN

Raise The Jolly Roger as the Bucs walk of the Josh Bell Nats!!Ponce firing aspirins!
Wow. Crazy.Amazing. Schmindians no hit for the third time this season! More amazing? The tribe starter named zack plesac, who missed almost half the season with an injury, was the starter for all three of the Schmindians losses.
Raise The Jolly Roger again as the Buccos earn another chance to sweep a series for the first time this year!!MSN

Man are you good. Make it sounds like the Prospects are a real team! Send your write ups to the PG and Trib and get a real job. Hell, maybe even work for the White House! You are the true Spin Meister. I yield my title! The Bucs Raise The Jolly Roger and screw the Reds!!!!
Don't look now but the Pirates have won 5 of 7 games heading in tomorrow's Roberto Clemente game which will see all of the Pirates wear 21. Jacob Stallings was named the Pirates candidate for the annual MLB Clemente award and used the adrenaline from today's nomination to smack two base hits, while driving in 2 runs and scoring a run. Dillon Peters started for Pittsburgh and baffled the wild card contending Reds for 5 shutout innings. Nick Mears ran into some bad pitching luck in the 6th inning giving up 4 runs trimming a 6 - 0 Pirates lead to 6 - 4. From there the Pirates bullpen shut the door giving the Bucs their 53rd win of the season (closing in on the betting total for over/under wins for the season). Hayes and Babe Ruth Yoshi each had two hits. Board Favorite Hello Newman with a hit in three at bats and a solid bunt sacrifice to raise his average to .227.
Head scratching moment of the game was Yoshi Tsutsugo being picked off first base again. Why he is even taking any kind of lead off first is beyond me.
Pittsburgh had lost 9 of their previous 10 games vs. Cincinnati this season.
Bad news of the day was that David The Renegade Bednar has been put on the 10 day injured list with right side tightness.
Reynolds is looking like true big leaguer. In other words. He will be traded for cash and two prospects this winter!🤬Pirates harpoon Big Fish....drag carcass on board and Raise The Jolly Roger!!!!
A 2 - 1 victory that was like sleep walking all nite before the game turned into a thriller in the ninth!!
Stratton on the hill in the ninth gives up a lead off triple to Bryan De La Cruz of the Florida Chum and then proceeds to strike out the side for the Buccos 55th win of the season!!!!
Wil Russell Crowe was effective enough with off speed and junk in the dirt to keep the Florida Smelt off balance through 5 and actually got a win! Banda, Mears, Kuhl and Stratton kept the fish at bay from there.
Ke'Bryan Hayes was great in the field and pathetic at the dish. Curly Cole Tucker actually had a hit and sacrifice to make it appear he does belong on the bench .....maybe .....in the majors.
Most embarrassing moment of the game was in the first inning. Reynolds and Red Beard walked with Reynolds then scoring on a Stallings base hit. This left the Pirates with Moran and Stallings at second and first with two out....up 1 -0. Miraculously, Tucker then hits a soft single to center which means the Pirates should have the bases loaded with 2 out........BUT NO......Joey Fing Cora strikes again by sending Colin Moran home carrying a fully loaded refrigerator!!!! Moran is out by 20 feet and that is not exaggerating!!!! Not to mention his slide left him 5 feet short of home plate. WTF are we doing out there!!!!??
Other than that.......not much to report. Reynolds looked impressive as always with a bomb of a double and an awesome retrieval of a double and a rocket throw to second that might have been a put out until Hoy Chun Free Parking mucked up the catch and tag.
Bucs & Smelt will face off tomorrow at 6:10 with Wilson set to face Cabrera. If Pirates are lucky enough to win.....there won't be much of a report for obvious reasons.
I beginning to think the Bucs season win total will actually go to the over.......which is hard to believe.
You can't get MLB hitters out consistently with only fastballs.
You can't get MLB hitters out consistently with only fastballs.
I didn't mind them getting rid of Glasnow even though his ceiling was incredibly high. It wasn't going to happen for him in Pittsburgh. Including Meadows and Baz is where it really went sideways for me.Pirates get thumped by the Reds, and Shane Baz gets his first win for the Rays.
The Chris Archer trade: the gift that keeps on giving for Tampa!
There is certainly a lot of truth in that. In Pittsburgh RR was the man and would only pitch the ninth occasionally. Pitching as a set up man IS different. You can't get MLB hitters out consistently with only fastballs.
The Pirates Pillage the Queen City and Raise The Jolly Roger for the 57th time to totally screw over the Reds!!!!!MSN

DK doesn't pretend though.Sideways?
If the Mets or Yankees made the same trade, the dope who made it would be run out of town , banned from MLB, and have his ugly face plastered in the press.
In Pittsburgh, the press pretends it never happened, and the fans are like sheep.
Pirate fans deserve last place.
This trade was panned by most from the get go. Initially the press liked it because it showed the Pirates trying to do something to get over the top. When contending teams don't make a move they get blasted but when the team makes a move they get blasted.Sideways?

Glasnow has incredible talent, but when you look at his career, he's got a record of 20-20 at age 29 and will be coming off of Tommy John.I didn't mind them getting rid of Glasnow even though his ceiling was incredibly high.
