...the program sold at the NCAA Championships needs editing...
... I don't understand why they no longer list past individual Champions by weight class by year...
... it is a simple table with ten weight
classes on the horizontal axis and the years down the left margin...
... the weight classes have changed somewhat over the years but it is a simple matter to change - there were still only ten classes... for several years they listed them by grouping weight classes and it was difficult to follow champions who had changed weight class one or more times..
...once in place it would be very easy to update each year...
...I would be happy to provide the info to date if someone from the publication would then keep it up to date...it should only take about 4 pages ( 2 double pages) to add it to the program...
... this year's $20 program of more than 80 pages had only about 30 pp of wrestling info and more than 50 pp of advertisements!... oh, well... :(

You, or they, could use this link and use the first page for each year. Go back as far as they want.

...that's a great source!...thanks... :)

You are very welcome. I think it would be a very interesting addition to the NCAA program. I agree that there should be some archive data in those publications.

I really think people would enjoy it.

FWIW, the NCAA also publishes online an annual tournament "record book" with tons of stats and details. The 2018 version is not yet posted, but here's the link to 2017: http://fs.ncaa.org/Docs/stats/wrestling_champs_records/2017-18/D1.pdf

And here's the link to the main page going back a bunch of years for D1, D2, and D3: http://www.ncaa.org/championships/statistics/ncaa-wrestling-championships-tournament-records

Great reference tool, thanks. Was fun seeing my old high school wrestling coach John Monaco as a 1985 All-American from D3 Montclair State in there. Also enjoy knowing that in 1987 he knocked Mike Amine out of the championship bracket. A little pre-revenge for Zain :)

Little late to the party on this one, but my D1 fan guide has more statistical historical breakouts than anything out there, including the program. Also had every single wrestler's result from the current season, optimized for your tablet/smartphone for easy viewing and navigation during the event.

I was going to jump in and mention Jason' Guide, which is first rate. I've bought it the last 3-4 years and it has so much information. The individual wrestler write-ups are great. Also, has summaries of the conference tournaments. It also has all kinds of team and historical breakdowns.

Jason, my only suggestion was to ask if you could include the historical champions by weight.

one thing about "by weight" is the weight class changes over the years. The link above as "discontinued" weight classes and it starts with 1998 (or 1999, I'm not looking at it) with the new weights. My thought is by year would be more relevant since the weights have changed over the years.

There may be a slight editorial error on the 2016 OW... (unless I missed the year that Kyle Snyder wrestled for PSU!) ;)

Other than that, these are great...thanks for sharing.
The don't know how to spell our illustrious 149-pounder's name either (2016)....
