My answer is yes.

My wife was a natural blonde but her hair changed to brunette over the years, just like me. I was still blonde when I started Penn State, but 4 years later had brown hair when I graduated.

REDHEADS, DAMNIT! My wife is a blue-eyed freckled flaming Irish redhead, but I won't post a picture (BWI wife exclusion rule). I was at a nanoscience review at work today and some nanobiologist (not my field) was going on about how melanin could be used as a scaffold for synthetic biological nanostructures. He stated parenthetically that melanin determines hair color. I turned to my female colleague and said, "This melanin nanotechnology intrigues me. Could we use it to produce more redheads? She nearly lost it. I then said, "I love redheads. It's not a character flaw, it's a feature." She then fully lost it in the middle of a serious nanoscience review. This is one of my finest moments of late - a small part of my work, but one that makes me most fulfilled.
