Won't link YouTube clips because the poll could only hold five nominees. There are a lot of great duets out there, and these are mostly classics I grew up with (I reluctantly included Sonny & Cher because the sung as a duo). Didn't include holiday duets; these are all songs that were hits on Billboard. Would love to hear other favorites, certainly not a definitive list.

hmm, I'll have to think about this a bit. Off the top of my head, Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes, in The Time of my Life

I was going to include it but felt I would have to give up 'Up Where We Belong', which is burned into my memory from watching 'An Officer and a Gentleman' so many times as a youth. Great song.

A few years back, my workplace had an annual meeting at which the entertainment was what I would describe as sort of a composite 80's power ballad band, which included among others John Cafferty, Mickey Thomas, David Bickler, and the former lead singer from Toto. Toward the end of the show, the Toto guy walks over to the woman who was doing backing vocals, and says to her, "This is usually the point in the show where I would get down on my knee and ask you to sing with me. But I just had surgery."

That was the best duet ever, and I don't even remember the song.
