Since actual PSU football news is sparse, I thought we could discuss the players we haven’t see play yet ... not including the incoming 2019 recruits.

As the Lions get ready to head into spring practice, I am eager to see Aeneas Hawkins. He had offers from nearly all the Big Dogs ... and his name calls to mind Joe’s favorite Greek play. He’s my pick for “breakout player” this spring.

Can't choose only one. Expecting Hawkins, Culpepper and Katshir to all contribute this year. Katshir @ least on special teams. Culpepper and Hawkins both move into the DT rotation.

Yep, anxious to see Hawkins. When I have seen him on the sidelines he looked pretty small compared with other big time DT recruits, possibly a 3-tech?? Cullpepper seems to have a bigger frame.

Scruggs got great reviews for his scout team work this past season, but I'm interested to see the weight he is listed at for Spring practice.

Katshir looked to have a nice frame for a LB from what I have seen, so it will be interesting to see how he has filled out, how fast he plays, and how he tackles if he plays in the B/W game. He seems to be somewhat forgotten in the LB equations by some in the media, with all the big name recruits added to all the returning talent.

But it is hard not to pick Levis, who also reportedly did a good job on the scout team. He looks to built like a mature player from the pictures I have seen. And it's always great to see how a new QB performs in the Spring game. He has had a whole year to learn the play book and get comfortable at PSU so I look for him to easily defend his 3rd team status against the true freshman that are enrolled. But we'll see....

I thought ‘Hawkins’ was a play about the sometimes troubled life of Connie Hawkins, not a Greek play. Dumb me.

Holy Sophocles! My mistake, and one I am embarrassed to admit. Virgil’s The Aeneid was actually a Roman epic poem, not a Greek play. I should have been more careful and attentive to detail.

I’ve never read Hawkins, but then NBA dramas have never interested me. ;)

I prefer Agamemnon a play by Aeschylus. Lots of implied sex and overt violence. The loose women include the legendary Helen of Troy and the concubine Cassandra. Taking the cake however, is Clytemnestra, wife of Agamemnon, who kills him the very night he returns from the Trojan Wars in his bathtub......slaughtering him like an animal with an axe.
