Poindexter. Not a flashy hire by any means, but I believe these guys will run through a brick wall for him. He’s done his time.
I like Poindexter for all the right reasons and he's great at what he does but if he wants a DC he should go off somewhere to be that guy. I do not want this next guy to be an experiment just because he's done his time.
However, if it ends up being Poindexter and it could be then I want Dan Conner as the LBC and Terry Smith can handle coaching the entire backfield on D.
I voted for Poindexter, but I do recall recently reading something to the effect that he’s very happy doing what he’s doing and he didn’t really wanna be a coordinator so take that for what it’s worth
I’ve heard that too. Wouldn’t it be great if we could find a badass DC who thought like that? Just a pipe dream.

Maybe not a pipe dream, supposedly Golden has a similar attitude. I know a little more here than I can say at this point, after Monday though. But I refuse to get my hopes up.
I've read the same thing, but I've also recently read that if he doesn't get the DC job at PSU there's a good chance he takes the DC job at Virginia Tech under Pry. If true that might put Franklin in a tricky spot, depending on how he feels about possibly replacing a position coach this offseason as well.
If it was going to be Poindexter, it would be over already, correct?
I don't think so I think Franklin will talk with all on his list. I do think Poindexter is the fallback plan and it looks like it's working.
