Had a boss who got his BSFPE from UMD, and is my age. As we got to know each other he admitted he was incredibly frustrated that in nearly every close game, WE found a way to come back and steal the W at the very end. Like clockwork. Im talking 60's 70's 80's. He couldnt figure it out. and he's a smart guy. Saved many lives in the WTC with his actions. (another story.)

So Im using him as proxy for the UMD fan base, and how they feel when it comes to playing us. Theyre chafing at the bit for any kind of W to help even the score ( even slightly.)

And with a bye week, and a new HC with a good rep - from Bama no less, and an O that is way more balanced than in recent years ( between pass and run) - but a still questionable D - their hopes will be sky high.

Id be interested in hearing from those who go to the game on how you were received/treated. Of course, a lot of that will depend on how things turn out.

This game is huge for them, and if you look at the rest of their schedule its easy to see them finish below 500, barring a major upset or two. And those hopes start and probably end vs us.

Its a background story that I expect has our coaching staff working OT ( on top of OT) to prepare for our first road game of the year.

It's also a game where many of our top players will be returning to their DELMARVA roots, and will be hyped up to play their best. ie with heavy duty adrenaline flowing in their veins, which can work either way.

Last year we blew them out. Some bad blood has flowed in recent years.

If we can unleash all our talent, no problemo. But they play the games for a reason.
