Don't give me that crap for this being off topic. I'm about to do some of you a huge favor. You can thank me later.
So, about now, anyone participating in KYPSW should be thinking to themselves, "Wait, what? Did he lose the KYPSW spreadsheet?" Some of you might be thinking, "Oh, man, if he lost the family photos, Mrs. Pawrestlers is gonna kill him." And, some of you are thinking, "Yeah, I should do that sometime."
Wednesday night, I was on the road, checked into my hotel, and tried to fire up my computer to take care of something for work. Only, my computer got to a black screen and stopped. It's happened before, so I rebooted, and again black screen. Third try, I got to a screen that said, "Something went wrong (Jim Gibbons), do you want to reboot or enter diagnostics." Long story short, I went through diagnostics, which showed a hard drive issue. Tried several more things, and nothing.
Went to Best Buy on Thursday, where they didn't have the machine I wanted, but they found one in Harrisburg, which I had to drive through to get home on Friday.
So, yesterday, I dropped by Harrisburg Best Buy, picked up my new machine, came home, fired it up, and immediately went to my off-site storage site. There was one document I knew I had to find, and even though I wasn't going to do anything with it immediately, just needed to see it open up in Excel, the KYPSW spreadsheet, just to know it was safe and sound.
And, there it was, in all its glory, "KYPSW 2018-19." So, sometime today, I'll be getting the terrible, yet great, results entered in. But, you can bet, if I had to go back and enter over 5000 entries, KYPSW would be over for the year, unless Roar Lions would take it over.
So, whatever else you do today, make sure your important stuff is backed up. It's so easy these days, and cheap. You will feel so much better.
For stuff I need to access a lot, like KYPSW, I use OneDrive. For longer term stuff, that I just want to have a back-up, but don't access often, I use iDrive. It's set up to back up certain folders on my computer, which it does in the background, and 2 terrabytes of space is $70/year. Well worth it.
