The 2019 team was powerful offensively. Sean Clifford's injuries hurt the team at key moments (i.e. the tOSU game). However, that team could run the ball when it needed to - watch the end of the Iowa game at Kinnick - we ran the clock out on them. Also, watch Noah Cain in that game, and you tell me if he looks anything today like that player. We have no running back that seems to be 100% healthy:
- Lee was okay but now he is hurt
- Cain - not close to his former self, and it shows on extra yards as he just goes down
- Lovett - has shown flashes like when he was at Baylor, but he has been hurt all the way back to camp. Missed half the games.
- Ford - some flashes but MIA now.
- Holmes - not sure how bad he is hurt but not sure he has played more than a few plays all year.
there is the full RB room we thought we had.
Our OL lost Wormley = starting LG and who knows what that did. A number of OL on this team were 4* players as well as from the past. We have recruited * talent that is at least as good as Wisconsin, Iowa and certainly Illinois have.
we have a QB who now is hurt, and since JF has been the HC, we do NOT play well when the QB cannot run. that has been key to the run game - go all the way back to Trace.
