Don't beat up on these kids that commit to the places and programs where they want to be and then waiver or flip. Many are tortured by the assholes around their communities and states. I recall when PSU recruited Leroy Thompson and Sam Gash (despite every recruiting douche having them going to Ga - One recruiting service calling the pair the best inside outside combination since Mitchell and Harris)...... on signing day, the Thompson house in Tennessee was vandalized. The recruiting service that made the comment above had GA as the number one class in the nation and PSU around 6th the day before the signing ...PSU lost no pledges and picked up Ga's number 1 and 2 according to that recruiting service...so the day after signing day....they kept Ga's class at number 1 and downgraded PSU's class.

Despite what you see posted here, nothing has changed in recruiting and the USA has a football culture problem. We are a nation with way too many assholes.

Penn State has a culture problem for doing it the right way and turning out well-spoken, well-educated student-athletes. If that's a culture problem, what the hell do we call what is going on everywhere else?

Paging ChiTownLion. He does an excellent job summarizing the mess that has been um the past few years (jessop, gibbons/lewan, etc.).

A "Corner Bar" purveyor of vices no less...talk about a "culture" and a "priorities" problem.

Why would you want him to bring up the bad things that have happened at other schools? Is it something that would make people feel better? It's not like PSU hasn't had their own issues. Actually what school doesn't have some issues that happen.

Why would Harbaugh prefer this over coaching in the NFL? It takes a "special" person. Could you imagine BOB doing something like this? I wonder if Harbaugh will ride home with him after his first missed FG? What will that billboard say if he misses the GW against OSU?

You know why, 'cause Freeh said we were the ones with the culture problem, and now we're scoffed at FOREVER because of it... That's why!!!

Harbaugh will pull his scholarship because of his "history of injures" to protect him.

Ha...if you only knew the whole story:

A neighbor of Quinn's put up a sign welcoming Harbaugh with the score of the MSU/Michigan game (for those that don't know that part of the state leans a little towards Sparty)...the neighbors sign got some play in social media including a response from Harbaugh's twitter giving the guy credit for his effort. So a local bar jumped on the trend and did this...tweeting it out to Harbaugh's twitter (and thus fans)...I'll bet that bar has a few very good weeks of sales and some new customers...very good job of using social media to promote the business.

This is why I can no longer pay to support recruiting sites like this and others. It's certainly a problem, but one I fear we helped create. When it was just Phil and a handful of other 'gurus' back in the day recruiting news was provided via newsletter by snail mail or by calling 800 numbers and only the most hardcore fans paid attention. Now there's an entire business sector that supports thousands of jobs on the musings of young men and writings of 'reporters' whose job it is to drive subscriptions and generate clicks. I will at least give credit to the bar owner for showing his support publicly - if this were the SEC, this would be likely much worse and out of the public eye.
