Ohio doesn't have a win over a D1A school with a winning record but they have two losses against D1A schools with losing records. That leans towards bad. Minnesota without Tanner Morgan is a bad team. Purdue is by far our best won however. They are not terrible. They are not good though either.
At the expense of the regular season. Hell no. Not worth it at all. The playoffs need to be destroyed, not expanded.
There's no expense. It makes more games meaningful.

The entire conference was 1 score games except for OSU (2 scores thanks to a pick 6 in the final minute), and PSU blowing out Rutgers. Notably UM needed a game winning FG against unranked Illinois. #5 Tennessee lost, allowing a historic number of points to an unranked team for a top 5 team in the process. #4 TCU needed a game winning FG against unranked Baylor. #1 Georgia only won 16-6 over unranked Kentucky. #14 Ole Miss lost to unranked Arkansas. #22 OSU lost to unranked OU. #7 USC squeaked by #16 by 3.

We do not have a quality win. Purdue is the only win in the discussion for quality. Minnesota with Morgan might be, but maybe not. The teams they beat are a combined 18 and 48. It is no better with Auburn whose biggest is 6 and 3 San Jose State. We have played a sorry schedule. We beat the bad to mediocre, and lost to the only two that are any good.
Look at who half of the SEC was playing this week. No penalty for them having glorified scrimmages against high school teams before they play their rivals.
That is absolutely false. The BCS and its runty predecessors wounded the out of conference schedule. The playoffs put it out of its misery. Expansion kills the conference championship. College football is simply different. The undeniable fact that there was far less controversy during the entirety of the bowl era which spanned decades than during the BCS or playoff periods by itself is proof positive that the playoffs are an abomination.
After the game I heard one of the ESPN talking heads on the radio say that PSU will finish with "an unsatisfying, empty calorie" 10-2 regular season. Until we beat a good UMich or OSU team, that is going to be the perception. They did like our group coming back for next year though along with the recruiting class coming in.

Good teams find ways to win when the offense struggles. This could have been similar to the '21 Illinois game, but we have an aggressive defense now that utilizes a lot of players. Carter is better today than any LB on the '21 team was. And we are missing JPJ yesterday, which would be like missing Brisker last year.
Singleton finally breaking a kickoff is why you recruit the best players.
The O stunk for a half. We still led at halftime and won by 5+ scores. Much better than what it has been in past years and with everyone that is returning, probably setting up for our best preseason expectations since '17.
