PSU loss to mid-major Temple has former PSU players furious article!

Not a bit, they speak the truth. The offensive scheme is a joke.

These comments might hurt recruiting really bad, I mean if ex players don't have faith, why would a kid want to come here. I know they are frustrated but keep your mouth shut. Big difference between fans venting frustrations and ex players venting

These players seriously need to STFU. There's a time and place to air your dirty laundry and if you have a problem with the staff, say it to their face. Crap like this does absolutely zero to help anyone, especially the players.

Reminds me of an Abe Lincoln habit where when he was angry at someone and wrote them a letter he'd wait 24 hours to send it. Most of the time the letter never got sent after he had time to cool down. In situations like this, you can't unsay this stuff.

I get it but kinda disappointed in these guys.
I did not see the sack on the two man rush vs. the six man protection live -- looking at in now in this thread I can see that it was a spectacular inside swim move by #35 -- the LG had looked to double the NG before the NG dropped off into coverage so he was a split second late to help -- #11 who stayed in to block was lined up on the other side of the backfield so he was a second late -- so while it looked like 2 on 6, it really came down to a great move one on one and being slightly out schemed on the play.

Herb Hand might need to the first one fired. There are talent issues but 5 oline on 2 pass rushers and we lose? He better get the heck off twitter and get in the film room asap if he likes coaching.

That not an example of coaching. That is talent. That not being in able recognize a stunt could be blamed on coaching. Getting beat by a two man rush is on the players.

They didn't need to rush even two on that play. The kid who made the sack, Nate Smith, made an incredibly athletic play to beat two guys to get Hack. Gotta give him credit. Amazing play, single handed.

And Paris Palmer was not the problem on that play,he made some mistakes but shouldn't be the fall guy for PSU fans.

Maybe the players did. Could this be why Smith, James, and Barnes left for the NFL when everyone here was saying they should stay.

This is the downside of social media. Before, these comments would be shared within a closed community over a beer and maybe a telephone call. Now, the whole world gets to read them and their importance gets inflated far beyond their authority.

So, I'll add my own. Could Tyrone Smith be talking about Hackenberg continuing to play over McSorley?

The temple MLB kept coming on a delayed blitz and the OL never adjusted to it. That is on both the coaching staff and OL as they didn't make any adjustments.

That is the only example your type can find. Since he left we've lost to Ohio U, Indiana, Maryland, a terrible Illinois team, Northwestern (blowout), etc. Sanctions or no, this shows the depths to which Penn State has sunk. And this staff is not the answer.

Maybe Sandy will give them all raises. That should help the coach better.

Yea people bitch about post made on this board that hurt recruiting what those guys did is 100x worse than anything we post or say.
Just SFU.

You know what though? I agree the OC sucks. Im hoping he gets fired asap. If Franklin wont do it, maybe some former players need to convince him.

While I did like Adam Gress a lot, I don't recall him being a stalwart on the O-line.

Hmmmmmmmm.

I'm sorry... but they are correct. Someone needs to let the OL know the game they are playing requires contact and they are not playing badminton. That one play should be played on a big screen at practice until these guys wake up....

And the ex players have a right to be upset when they see a lack of effort that is an embarrassment to the tradition that they helped build.

You seem to forget Paterno's very average record against the likes of Kirk Ferrentz, Glen Mason and Hayden Fry in years that Iowa and Minnesota had half the talent of PSU (never mind Wakt Harris playing PSU tough and eventually winning).

I also remember Temple putting more than one scare on PSU in those lean years with less talent than the Owls have this year and PSU more loaded than what we currently have

If anyone with a sane mind really thinks Parerno could do much more with this roster coming out of sanctions and thin at OL and LB, you're kidding yourself and need to revisit 2000, 2001, 2003 and 2004

I guarantee you the coaches told them about it. You act as if the coaches say x the players will do x. They are not robots. It up to the players to recognize it. Picking up blitzes is all about awareness.

Yes it is up to the players to make adjustments as well as the coaching staff to call plays exploit the defense. PSU did neither. The OL didn't make adjustments and the staff kept calling the sames plays.

Sandy is patrolling social media for any reference to 409 in case it hurts non-Penn Stater's sensibilities. You go Girl! Not.
