recruiting on the rise - although too bad we recruited Hampton and he never winds up in a game. team looks very chaotic at times - playing more like individuals, but still better. we still seem to be second tier in our own state. I live several states removed, so people out here think schools like Bucknell are somewhere in New England, and wouldn't expect they could even play on the same court as a BIG school. PA is one of the talent rich BB states, so if we can continue to climb we will get more of the recruits in our own region. Just like in FB, the results on the court are what recruits are looking at now. same follows for WBB. it seems that PSU has so much to offer over most schools in our state.

look at the things we are now great at = wrestling (and Pa is talent rich area), WVB and remarkably ice hockey where we do not sit in a state that is talent rich (although our team is recruited nationally and internationally). and of course FB is starting to comeback to its former glory.

I don't agree that the Team plays as individuals, although I can see why you think they do ("at times"). I think they are usually looking to dish the ball off to a better positioned shooter, but often that better positioned shooter has not positioned himself to be in the better position. The ball handler drives for the basket, but the wood-be better positioned shooter has not been in that better position. That's the Team development that is needed.
That is not a criticism of the coaching; it's a comment on the youth of this Team. They have to do a better job of moving without the ball. Watkins is usually doing this pretty well but even he can do better. Maybe it's what you meant by being spotty.

For the progress to continue this season, there will have to be more minutes off the bench from Bostick, Samuels, Moore and Washington. Chambers mentioned in an interview this week that he needs to get Bostick and Washington contributing in the rotation, so the starters don't get worn down, Remember, 3 of the starters are Freshman and they haven't built the stamina of upper classroom. College hoops is more physical, so eventually Freshman hit a wall for a few games and then hopefully regroup. Improved depth will be the telling factor in success as the season progresses toward March.

Where did you ever get the idea PA is rich in basketball talent?

Philadelphia.
Philly is part of PA? Always thought it was in NJ. (Just kidding)

While Philly dominates, lots of great players have come from all over PA. Many ACC and Big East schools have feasted on these players over the decades. Would be nice to keep some of the better ones at PSU.

Nice that we finally have a coach who is trying and realizes that this is attainable. After 30 years of coaches who were too chicken**** to even try.
