Not to mention injuries start happening more frequently at that age. I think in March we see a whole new picture about who is in line to win a national championship. Not wishing anyone bad luck I would like every kid to do well just sayingDon't want to make any predictions about anyone burning out per se but having talked to a few people who are in some of the best Division 1 wrestling rooms, I can confirm burnout is a very real thing if that's what you're implying. Wrestling is not an easy grind and even some people standing on the top of the podium don't enjoy the sport but they're so talented they can make it work. That's why the "Have Fun" mantra is important to us as much as others want to joke about it.
I get the burned out thing, it's very real. The opposing side of that is being inspired. For example -- neither Eireman nor Kemerer have won individual championships, so their fire, I'm sure is burning strong. Add the desire to win another team championship and it's doubtful we'll see anything but their best. Our guys must continue to train hard and improve too -- last year is over, time to get back to work.Don't want to make any predictions about anyone burning out per se but having talked to a few people who are in some of the best Division 1 wrestling rooms, I can confirm burnout is a very real thing if that's what you're implying. Agree. I think 8 is a good bet. RBY, Nick Lee, Beau Bartlett, SVN, Facundo, Starocci, AB, and Kerkvliet. Outside chance for Robbie Howard, Michael Beard, and Max Dean.If the over/under was set at 7 for the number current wrestlers on the roster that will be on that wall... I'd probably take the over.
