PSU would have been right there if fate had smiled on Altons

In top form, I think the Altons could have delivered the needed points - especially given the bonus point machine that AA is when wrestling at his best. I take my hat off to the Altons they certainly gave it everything they had (including ultimately their bodies) in their effort. Who knows why life works the way it does, but the Altons stared life down and as the saying goes, better to have tried, given it everything you had, etc...and come up short then to have never tried at all.

One other other personal observation from Nationals, Smack really showed me something after his loss to Hartmann.....he was on a mission and will be right there next year. At the end of the day, I'm not sure that anyone was beating Gadson this year anyway.

Aside from Spencer Johnson with a torn ACL?
 
Agree ...

Their highly questionable availability certainly played a large part in the decision to redshirt Megaludis and Retherford. Had all four wrestlers been available and healthy Penn State is in the hunt for No. 1 to the end.
