Teachers in SCASD have been let go for helping on PSSAs
In Atlanta, the higher scores the kids get, the more cash bonus the teacher gets. This is ridiculous, since it leads to teaching to the test, which is simply test taking skills and cuts out and "fun" learning, and also leads to situations like this. That being said, if it was proven to the jury that they were doing it for the money, then I guess it's fair. 7 years is quite a bit of jail time though, considering how lenient the punishment was for the two teachers that plead out.
