Was it just me or were our punters lousy on Saturday. #92 punted the first ball, with no rush mind you, about 30 yds. And it was a line drive.

Not that it mattered, but the media punt catching contest sucked primarily due to the fact the balls were kicked no where near them

Blake Gillikan #93 one of the best punters around. The only problem could be if he gets hurt. Otherwise I think he will be fine.

So you're saying that big, fat, out of shape media blowhards aren't athletic enough to run towards a punt unopposed and make a catch, yet they sure can critique the players that can actually do that very same thing while 200lb athletes are running down the field to destroy them.

Blake Gillikan was plenty good. He was hitting some bombs. He'll be punting on Sundays after his career here.

Gilliken is a weapon in the field position game. We talk so much about how many guys we return on offense and defense but what may turn out just as big is returning Gilliken and Tyler Davis. Those guys made a difference in a number of games last year even if it was quiet.

I found it interesting that the biggest blowhards (Jones, Geiger, Flounders, Moyer, Mom ) wanted no part of it. That was another stroke of genius by CJF. Calling out the media in a way that doesn't look like you are.

Or big, fat, out-of-shape internet board members who can't put two sentences together critiquing media types who can and do it for a living, knowing that narrow-focused people will amuse themselves using words like "suck", "blow me", "idiot" to describe them. Can you tell one of my nephews is a sportswriter

I saw our local sports guy make a running grab on his punt, obviously he could move. He is also pretty small. Then Blake shorted him by 20 yards, in the second round.

Does anyone know the status of Alex Barbir? I know that there are a lot of talent ahead of him but he was phenomenal out of HS.
