Five days ago Congress overwhelmingly voted sanctions against Russia. The Senate voted 98-2, the House 419-3. Today Putin announced retaliatory diplomatic expulsions. Trump has yet to sign the bill.
In December Obama expelled Russian diplomats over election interference. Michael Flynn (at that time still a private citizen) had 5 phone conversations with the Russian ambassador. There was no Russian retaliation.
This further illustrates the cozy relationship with Trump and Putin. Why? It also illustrates Flynn (and maybe Trump) undermining the foreign policy of the sitting President.
