It has been said that football is a copycat sport. When a team has great success with a concept everyone else quickly copies it. Given Ohio State's unique defense, playing 3 CB's and only 1 S, any chance PSU might mimic that next year? Important to note OSU's one S, Fuller, is an absolute stud.
One reason why this might be attractive is, IMHO, S is not a stength at PSU and even less so next year with Taylor graduating. We return Wade, Brisker and Sutherland, all of whom, at times, were liabilities in pass coverage; perhaps Rudolph as a RS FR can play, maybe Jennings can step in and play, but absent someone like that stepping up, our S seem better suited to run support. So if we were to go the OSU route, would Wade be the guy back there? Granted this assumes PSU would come out of spring ball really excited about Castro-Fields, Ellis, Williams, Gordon and Porter. We certainly would seem to have more talented depth at CB than S.
