I was overseas defending your so called freedoms and just got a copy of this game. It was ugly for a WVU fan 51-6. Seemed like Joe wanted to run up the score. Anyone have any insights into this game? I realize it was long ago. That being said have been to your stadium for many games. I remember the 05 Ohio State game like it was yesterday. We had a good time. My brother is a big PSU fan.

Vague recollections. Joe was putting together the pieces of that incredible 1994 offense. You guys had a few turnovers, especially in the first half leading to some easy drives. I liked your 1991 uniforms better than what you guys wear today.

Just a few observations from a Penn St perspective. It’s nice to see interceptions with PSU defenders actually catching the ball. ;). The RBs were more shifty making defenders miss compared to now.

This was probably the only Don Nehlan coached team that one could say “quit” during a game (along with the Florida Bowl game in ‘93w/Kelchner) WVU players clearly wanted no part of that game by the end. I always thought of the Don Nehlan era at WVU as a poor man’s Penn State or something like that. Generally shows up to play, even when over matched will punch you in the mouth and was good for the occasional upset.

Show this tape to the offensive line today. But when Sacca threw the long ball, shut and lock the gates because you did not know where it was going to to come down. Great names and great memories.

From 5:13 to 5:18 you see #16 on the WVU sideline, C. Gray (Chris Gray). He was a backup QB at WVU. You also see him at 9:27 taking a sack and then throwing an INT. He died in the Twin Towers on 9/11.

That’s horrible to hear. It brings it all home watching him play and knowing what would happen 10 years later.
